Man vs. Happiness by Freida Kilmari Book Review

A few months ago, I agreed to become an ARC reader for Freida Kilmari’s book, Man vs. Happiness, not really knowing what to expect. I had beta read many times, but never been an ARC Reader. Please bare with me in my first book review of a wonderful story about life!

I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty behind the words in this book.

Not that it was surprising that it was well-written.

It was surprising that one could portray so much beauty in what is usually considered dark and depressing.

Without giving too much away, I absolutely loved the way Kilmari structured the book. It started at the beginning of a story that immediately pulled me in. Then, it jumped from poem to short story, and back to a poem.

After several pages of this, the story picked back up, and again, kept me on the edge of my seat. Poem. Short Story. Poem. Back to the story that flowed through this book like a river.

     It was beautiful.

If you are looking for something short to read that has elements of fantasy and poetry, look no further.

Man vs. Happiness will be on sale by the end of February, and I highly recommend you get yourself a copy!
